The Canton Chamber of Commerce along with the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a first-of-its-kind civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Participating 6th, 7th and 8th graders will flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. Finalists will be invited to Washington, DC to compete in the inaugural National Civics Bee national championship in November 2024.
The second round is a live event taking place on April 23rd in the Student Center at Eastern Michigan University from 6:30 -8:30 pm. The community is invited to look on as the students compete for the three top honors. There will also be an audience only version of the question and answer rounds. Bring your devices but don't be surprised if you are not smarter than a 6th Grader! Watch the video below for a snapshot a live event and catch the excitement of the young participants.
